Twice now, someone has visited my blog after doing the this Google search: "Thom Stark is a Bad Philosopher and a Worse Theologian." The first instance was last week sometime, and it was somebody in Italy, about 56 minutes from Ancona. The second instance was today, and the search either came from or was routed through the University of Essex in Colchester, UK.
I just wanted to acknowledge that it's probably true, and that, rather than to be a good philosopher or theologian, I hope to be faithful. However, if my friends should ever learn a thing or two about philosophy or theology, or, say, biochemistry or neurology, I hope they'd be generous enough to share it with me. A poor man's poverty is a rich man's shame.

That is absolutely awesome.
The best search thats ever found me is "guy with really bad gas"
and since i've never written anything on the subject, I've no idea why it keeps leading to my site..
That's hilarious! And it cheered me up. :)
Someone's Google-hacking you lol. They used to do that to President Bush...they'd type miserable failure into google and then go to the White House website, or hyperlink the words "miserable failure" as the WH site to make George Bush show up as the top item for a search of "miserable failure."
It wasn't me, though.
I had someone Google Hack me as "terrorist lover."
Later someone created a "family friendly" rating of blogs and mine was given an "R" for reasons which escape me.
Michael,
At least "terrorist lover" was accurate!
And they probably gave you an "R" rating because you linked to my Torture & Eucharist thread! j/k
Hmm., I suppose "terrorist lover" could be "accurate" considering my attempt to love my enemies--but it was certainly misleading! Actually, I think my blog's "R" rating came because of threads on abortion and gay rights--just the terms without regard to content.
Aha. I was kidding about the link to me, but that makes sense.
Anyway, I don't think I'm being "Google hacked." I think I know who it is, and he's searching for something from a bygone age.
Nevertheless, you wear "terrorist lover" as a badge of honor, and I'll take "bad philosopher, worse theologian" as a point of pride.
at least its better than "actor/model and not the other way around"
Haha! I s'pose it is. :)
I personally find this form of Google-hacking offensive, not for it's intent, but it's effect (so people looking for bad philosophers and worse theologians would find Thom in addition to those purposely looking for him? That's supposed to upset him???). If you share my sentiment, and desire a more effective form of google-hacking that would misinform as well as mislabel, please google thomerica and click on the link to www.thomericasthomlickshisownballs.org and while you're there please make a contribution, websites aren't free after all.
Get the website up and running and I'll be your first monetary contributor! Although, if you could opt for a more euphemistic name, like, just as an example, www.thomericas-thom-is-incredibly-flexible-if-you-know-what-i-mean.org, I'll be able to link to it, which would quadruple your traffic instantly!
